We don't require you to create an account or give us any personal information to read this site. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and use it only to reply to you.

Information stored in your browser

Our home safety checklist remembers which items you've ticked using your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time with the "Clear ticks" button or your browser settings.

Hosting and server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site running.

Fonts and images

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and photos from Unsplash. When it does, those services may receive your IP address. See their privacy policies for details.

Affiliate links and cookies

This site contains affiliate links, including links to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may place a cookie in your browser so that it can credit us if you make a purchase. Those cookies are set and controlled by the retailer, not by us, and are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.
